There are many free and charitable health care organizations throughout the state of Tennessee that provide a vital source of primary care, oral health, prescription drug assistance, community health worker services, referral to specialty care, and other needed services for low-income, uninsured, and underserved Tennesseans. By engaging in TCCN, free and charitable care clinics and programs are strengthened through their ability to share their strategies, challenges, and lessons learned with each other.
Below is a snapshot of TCCN's Programs and Services. ADVOCACY TCCN helps serve as the policy and advocacy voice for free and charitable clinics and programs through our annual Hill Day to raise awareness about the important role they serve in Tennessee's Health Care Safety Net. TCCN also has a close relationship with leaders at the Tennessee Department of Health to ensure open dialogue and problem-solving when necessary about implementation of the Health Care Safety Net. EDUCATION AND TRAINING TCCN ensures members are up to date on best practices in free and charitable care, nonprofit leadership, clinical and quality improvement, and other relevant topics through regular webinars, trainings, and an annual conference. FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES TCCN strives to develop grant opportunities for members. These range from clinical programs such as breast and cervical cancer screening outreach, chronic disease support, and opioid abatement to Community Health Worker (CHW) program development to AmeriCorps program support. COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKERS TCCN has a robust Community Health Worker (CHW) program. We provide both virtual and in-person opportunities to learn from experts, network with one another, and share their experiences. In a partnership with Meharry Medical College, TCCN is helping to provide field experiences for CHW trainees at TCCN member organizations. QUALITY IMPROVEMENT TCCN provides training and support to members who are implementing quality improvements in data collection and healthcare outcomes to improve health equity. NETWORKING TCCN provides regular opportunities for executives, community health workers, and other staff to learn from each other in Peer Learning Groups and Regional Meetings. |
